V rámci festivalu umění ve veřejném prostoru M3 se ve středu 23. 6. 2021 od 14:00 do 18:00 uskutečnila performance Rememberance/ Body of the history.
Skupinové performance se vedle autorky zúčastní okolo dvaceti známých českých i zahraničních uměleckých osobností. Každý a každá z nich, v jednom čase a na jednom místě, na základě své autorské invence, ztvární některý z mnoha motivů, které Darina Alster posbírala a zařadila do osobní kroniky událostí z dějin městské části Prahy 6.
Podobně jako ve své předchozí tvorbě využila i zde autorka nové formy skupinové performance s inscenovanými prvky k interpretaci určitých aspektů současného světa. Ve vrstevnaté improvizované koláži interpretovalx performeři a performerky vlastními těly interpretovat historická fakta i osobní příběhy a vzpomínky místních obyvatel. Autorský výběr historických motivů zahrne dlouhé období od geologického utváření místního podloží, přes mytické příběhy až po nedávné zážitky místních obyvatel v období pandemické krize.
„Historie je herstorie, mnoho příběhů navrstvených na sebe. Horizont a vrstvy paměti připomínají členění městské zástavby. Význam i podoba jednotlivých informací se neustále proměňuje s aktuálními změnami paradigmatu. Tyto vrstvy nechávám vyznít v symfonii skupinové performance. Vycházím z metody embodymentu, vtělování, a kolektivního těla.
Společně pracujeme s emocemi, které historické vrstvy vyvolávají. Pokud má město živou paměť, tak těla performerů a performerek se stanou jejím hlasem. Společně vytvoříme performativní strukturu. Tělo paměti města.“
Všichni účinkující performovalx zároveň po celou dobu trvání akce. Situace byla decentralizovaně zaznamenávána pomocí kamer umístěných na jejich tělech, či na selfie tyčích v rukách asistentek a asistentů. Tento komponovaný mediální výstup je nedílnou autorskou součástí díla a byl pomocí online platformy prezentován na místě , a poté v dalších dvou měsících po dobu konání festivalu na sestavě monitorů viditelné v parteru NTK.
As part of the M3 festival of art in public spaces, the performance Rememberance/ Body of the history took place on Wednesday 23 June 2021 from 2.00 pm to 6.00 pm. Alongside the artist, around twenty well-known Czech and international figures from the art world will take part in the group performance. Each of them, at the same time and in the same place, drawing on their own creative vision, will interpret one of the many motifs that Darina Alster has gathered and included in her personal chronicle of events from the history of the Prague 6 district.
As in her previous work, the artist has here employed a new form of group performance incorporating staged elements to interpret certain aspects of the contemporary world. In a multi-layered, improvised collage, the performers used their own bodies to interpret historical facts as well as the personal stories and memories of local residents. The artist’s selection of historical motifs spans a long period, from the geological formation of the local bedrock, through mythical tales, to the recent experiences of local residents during the pandemic…
“History is herstory, many stories layered upon one another. The horizon and the layers of memory resemble the structure of the urban landscape. The meaning and form of individual pieces of information are constantly shifting in line with current paradigm shifts. I allow these layers to resonate in a symphony of group performance. I draw on the methods of embodiment and the collective body.
“Together, we work with the emotions evoked by historical layers. If a city has a living memory, then the bodies of the performers become its voice. Together, we will create a performative structure: the body of the city’s memory.”
All the performers performed simultaneously throughout the entire duration of the event. The event was recorded in a decentralised manner using cameras attached to their bodies or mounted on selfie sticks held by assistants. This composite media output forms an integral part of the artwork and was presented on-site via an online platform, and then for the following two months during the festival on a set of monitors visible from the stalls of the NTK.
